welcome to

COSTA RICA

Though it's a small country, there is a wide range of micro-climates including cloud forests, rainforests, dry forests, volcanoes, and beaches. It's not traditionally known as a diving hot spot, but we think diving Isla del Caño or Las Catalinas can go head to head with the best! Costa Rica has one of the best selections of luxury lodges, eco-friendly boutique hotels, and more traditional resorts. There is truly something for everyone in Costa Rica.

Tropical and subtropical, with dry and rainy seasons. When it's dry on one coast, it's rainy on the other and vice versa.

Rainforests, active volcanoes, diverse wildlife (e.g. monkeys, sloths, toucans), stunning beaches, adventure activities (e.g. rafting, ziplining, surfing), and scuba diving.

There's never a bad time! It just depends on where you want to go and what you want to experience.

  • December - April is considered the high season, which means the least amount of rain on the Pacific coast, but more crowds.
  • May - November is less crowded (& has better deals!) but a higher chance of rain on the Pacific coast.
  • The Caribbean, however, is the opposite. It is dry May - November and rainy December - April.
  • September - November brings tons of lush green foliage thanks to the rain, incredibly bright warm sunsets, and better pricing. There is nothing like a rainy season sunset - the sun coming down after an afternoon storm behind the clouds full of pinks, blues, and yellows.

when to travel

Seriously though- rainy season sunsets are unbelievable!
