It’s 9:30 pm. You’ve just landed in Cancun and it’s your first time traveling to Mexico. You’re excited because everyone has spent the last 6 months telling you that the diving in Cozumel is unbelievable. You pick up your luggage and walk out to gate 7 where you are supposed to meet your driver. There’s no one there. You wait. And wait some more. You realize no one is coming and that anxious panicky ‘omg what do I do now’ feeling starts to creep in….

This was us in May 2021 and it’s a moment we are eternally grateful for because in that moment DTA was born.

Let’s rewind... before DTA, we were working as luxury travel advisors in Costa Rica and met at a company happy hour (fitting for us!) where we bonded over our shared interest in …
well, murder podcasts.

We quickly became travel besties, visiting countless hotels and experiencing tours throughout Costa Rica. When the pandemic hit and travel screeched to a halt, we turned to the place we felt the happiest- the ocean. We got our dive certifications and have been mermaids ever since!

Fast forward to today, Kathleen lives in Costa Rica with her golden retriever, Nala. Melanie lives in Mexico City with her fiancé, Patrick.

Wow!!! I’m not even sure where to begin. This was definitely a trip of a lifetime. My boyfriend and I were looking for a vacation where we could have fun and enjoy each others company but mostly reconnect. Mission achieved ! I couldn’t imagine a better place than here!
